Annie is one of our Service Delivery Team Leaders at Assist Community Services. Favourite book: My all-time favourite book is 'The Stand' by Stephen King. Do you listen to podcasts? If so, which is your favourite? On Purpose with Jay Shetty. Do you have any hobbies? I’m fairly creative so enjoy painting and drawing etc, but I also love camping, fishing and horse riding. What’s your background? My first job was working at my family’s business, helping with the office admin. Since then, I’ve worked mostly in admin roles, mainly in media and advertising. I’ve also had some side gigs doing videography. What made you take the leap and enter this industry? Like most people who enter the industry, I wanted to be a part of something that would make a genuine difference in someone’s life. Why did you join Assist Community Services? I wanted to be a part of an organisation that operated in a way that actually reflected their vision and core values. What do you like about working at Assist Community Services? I love seeing participants achieve their goals and reflect back on how far they have come. It makes the tough days all worth it! Do you have any advice to others considering coming into this industry? You are going to have good days and not so good days, like any other job. What matters most is that you can honestly say that you are making a difference in someone's life. Be proud of that. Describe your typical day at work? A typical day for me always involves a coffee (or three), talking with participants and their support team, daily admin tasks, writing and updating rosters for my teams. What is the best advice you have ever received? Attitudes are contagious, so make sure yours is worth catching! Tell us a surprising fun fact about you. My first pet was a donkey, his name was Jupiter, and he came to live with us when he was 12 years old. Comments are closed.
