Meet Emmett, one of our dedicated Lifestyle Support Workers, whose journey has taken him from the world of baking in a small country town bakery to the fulfilling realm of support work. Before embracing his role as a support worker, Emmett's career path meandered through fitting and turning, as well as boiler making. When asked about his career shift, he expressed the desire for genuine and passionate work, finding profound satisfaction in supporting others.
In the journey towards independence, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plays a pivotal role in empowering NDIS participants to lead fulfilling lives. One key aspect of this support is Supported Independent Living (SIL), a service designed to provide assistance and encouragement to individuals to live independently.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the whole team at Assist Community Services. We hope 2023 has been a wonderful year for you and wish you all the best for 2024.
Through the NDIS, we proudly assist individuals with one on one support. Supports offered by Assist Community Services recognise the diversity and choice of each individual, family and their carers.
Mental health is more than mental illness. Mental health is the overall state of well-being in which every individual realises their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work efficiently and successfully, and is able to make a contribution to their community.
