​The guiding principles of Assist Community Services serve as the filter to assess all opportunities and the guideposts to make all decisions.

The guiding principles of Assist Community Services are:

• Person-centred. Assist Community Services works with participants, their carer/s and families to ensure the person is placed at the centre of our service and treated as a person first. Our focus is on the person and their strengths, not their condition or disability.
• Collaborative. Assist Community Services is committed to working with participants, their carer/s and their families, other networks and key people in the participant’s life to ensure we provide the best, most comprehensive service.
• Integrity. Assist Community Services delivers services and supports that are based on quality, honesty, dependability, sincerity and commitment.
• Respectful. Assist Community Services has respectful work practices. Staff take pride in providing programs and services in a way that recognise the importance of each individual’s strengths, needs, culture, lifestyle and circumstances.
• Optimistic. The culture within Assist Community Services fosters positivity and builds upon the strengths of each worker and participant.
