Season's Greetings from the whole team at Assist Community Services! As we approach the end of 2024, we hope it has been a fulfilling year for you, and we send our best wishes for a joyful and successful 2025.
At Assist Community Services, we love celebrating the unique talents and passions of our participants. Today, we're excited to showcase the incredible artwork of Sherrin, one of our talented participants whose love for drawing shines through in every piece she creates.
When most people consider careers in the NDIS they typically think about support work roles, but there are many other career opportunities at NDIS organisations.
Yesterday, we gathered outdoors with our team and participants for a small but meaningful morning tea to mark R U OK? Day. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was warm, and the conversations were even warmer. Our event was more than just a casual get-together; it was a reminder of the importance of checking in with those around us, not just on R U OK? Day, but every day.
At Assist Community Services, one of our core values is Optimism. As a NDIS organisation dedicated to supporting participants to achieve their goals, we know that a positive outlook can make a world of difference in both our work and personal lives.
There are multiple roles in support work at Assist Community Services that can be both rewarding and flexible. Our workforce includes staff who have made support work their career. University students who use support work as a way to put themselves through Uni, trades people who have entered their second career, parents who love the flexibility of working school hours, and shift workers who love the flexibility of nightwork. No matter what draws them to support work, we find that staff often comment on how fulfilling their employment in support work is.
At Assist Community Services we use the power of teamwork to create the best results for participants.
Congratulations to artist Deb Belyea for winning the 2024 NAIDOC Week Poster Competition. NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held from 7 - 14 July 2024.
